Solo is perhaps Norway's most famous brand. Solo was established way back in 1934, and has been a constant companion throughout the childhood and adolescence of many Norwegians – and still is. The recipe for Solo originally comes from Spain: Solo's "father", Torleif Gulliksrud, brought the recipe to Tønsberg, and not long after, the refreshing orange drink was available in stores. Solo quickly became the country's most popular drink, and until the 1960s, it was bigger than Coca-Cola in Norway.
